A community lab, grown up with the valley
Valley Medical Laboratories began in 1969 as a small community lab and has been part of Okanagan healthcare ever since. From humble beginnings, the lab has grown to more than 150 staff across fifteen locations — Keremeos, Osoyoos, Penticton, Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Winfield, Vernon, and Lumby.
Since May 2023, VML has operated under the Dynacare banner. Dynacare has been a partner in British Columbia’s healthcare system for years, with more than 50 years of experience in life sciences and diagnostic testing across Canada — which means the collection visit happens in your neighbourhood, with a national testing catalog behind it.
One thing patients often ask: we’re not part of Interior Health. VML is a community-based laboratory that operates separately from the health authority, working alongside the physicians, nurse practitioners, midwives, and naturopaths of the valley.

Laboratory medicine at VML is directed by a team of licensed pathologists who oversee chemistry, hematology, and microbiology — and respond to provider consultations within one business day.
